Description
The High Stepper
by
Tom Ryder
First Edition 1979,
9.5″x 6.5″ (24 x 16 cm) 221 pages, well illustrated with b/w photographs. Very good condition, dj a little chipped at the top edge.
One of the best books on the subject.
Tom Ryder has re-written the 1961 edition and expanded most of the text to make this a more complete history of an ancient breed as well as giving more complete descriptions of training methods and show ring presentation.
The whole is more than a dry recital of names and techniques, the author writes with simplicity and humour and has an ear for the phrase that not only entertains but informs.
His book will be welcomed by the enthusiast and the non-specialist horse lover alike.
